Life's a beach...

What a fantastically busy few weeks it has been for the Siler family!

First things first, some updates on us!

Jordan has joined the Kitty Hawk Kites team, so I guess you could say we are a tried and true KHK family. It will be a blast to work for the same company, we both get to go hang gliding, kayaking and all sorts of other things together - plus it will help us see each other despite our crazy busy work schedules this summer. He’s been floating around where ever they have needed him in the stores, mostly in the Manteo store.

The Buckley dog is lovin’ the beach! We let him run the beach and sniff, he pretty much wears himself out every time. The other night, I was walking slowly hunting beach glass and he just plopped down right in front of me. It was so funny, he tends to do this at home when he wants to relax - so why not by the sea?!

David and Shana Wilbanks have just decided to relocate to the OBX after their visit this week! Jordan and I could not be more excited!

Cherish your friends, they are priceless. I have learned so much this past year about friendship - how delicate it can be, how much responsibility it takes to maintain those relationships and how valuable the true ones are to my heart.

It’s hard not to be jaded or bitter - if I could write a letter to my younger self I would tell that girl to beware of those who will use you but don’t lock your heart away. It’s a strange balance, opening your heart but being prepared to be hurt.

We’re all just people. Broken people just trying to make it, sometimes that means we step all over each other and sometimes that means we are so overwhelmed with the love, support and grace our friends give us.

I’m so blessed in the friend department.

This weekend was Barcamp Conway - it was bittersweet to miss the event. Some of my best friends were the coordinators of the event and I was so proud to follow the tweet stream about what a successful event it turned out to be!

I really miss my Arkansas tech community. It was awesome to be sent this photo from the day - my beautiful geek friends in Arkansas are just about the only thing I am missing right now!

Well, that leaves me to some of my most played songs this week - in no particular order.

In a Different Time - JBM

Walt Grace’s Submarine Test, January 1967 - John Mayer

Fly - Nicki Minaj (feat. Rihanna)

Still Fighting It - Ben Folds

High Tide or Low Tide (cover) - Ben Harper & Jack Johnson
