Golden Monkey by Teavana is one of my favorite teas - it's luscious and rich and one of those teas that can be drank all on it's own. In fact, I think adding anything to it is just wrong. Don't do that. Ever.
I do know if you steep for too long it can become bitter, so be careful there but man, this tea is the yummiest black tea. Truly. I don't say that about many teas, but I could drink it anytime. Plus, my husband who's more of a coffee person, really enjoys this tea.
Be sure to smell these leaves in the tin, it's amazing - fragrant and refreshing! The tea makes a beautiful golden brew and is tasty anytime of the year. You can also re-steep the tea a few times over which makes it easy to enjoy over and over again!
According to Teavana's website, this tea is "Steeped in ancient lore and imperial exclusivity, this legendary top Chinese tea is the finest black tea from the Fujian province. In 2011, it was served at the White House to the President of the United States and the President of China. A smooth tippy tea, rich with complex cocoa undertones, it manages to be extremely low in tannins yet rich in flavor. Originating during the Song Dynasty, this Imperial tribute tea features golden tipped black leaves consisting of one leafand one bud."
I rate this tea 5 out of 5 stars. Yum!
