Read My Lips Lip Gloss

I really enjoyed this sample of Read My Lips Lip Gloss by the Balm. Though, it was really small. Only wore a total of 4-5 times before the gloss became vinegary. A major reason for this was likely storage in my purse and the fact that the tub was the size of my pinky toe.

Nevertheless, the balm was a great color. I tried the rose "bam" color which was great for my olive skin tone. The consistency was top-notch and went over well over base lip shades or did well all on its own.

If I were to buy this lip gloss brand, I'd like try the red next but overall, the brand is pretty expensive. $15 for a regular size tube and it's not like it was anything better than what you could get from nice brands at the drug store.

All in all, I'd recommend getting a sample and trying it out but not sure that I will ever buy it myself. Though I got it in a gift set from Birchbox, I'd be excited about it.

Derma e Anti-Wrinkle Facial Scrub

Derma-e Anti-Wrinkle Facial Scrub
I'm a HUGE fan of the derma e Anti-Wrinkle scrub! I have been using this facial scrub for two months now (yes, the sample was very nicely sized!) and I have seen great results! The scrub is unlike many other exfoliating cleansers and leaves my skin feel soft and nourished rather than the usual harsh feeling you get after scrubbing dead skin off your face.

I noticed my skin clearing up after about three days of usage. My makeup went on better after using this scrub and my daily moisturizer.

I recommend this exfoliating scrub to anyone with medium to oily skin and plan on buying some as soon as I run out of my sample. It's become a part of my daily routine.

Raina Navy Blue Eye liner by Sumita

I usually do not deviate from my dark gray, charcoal and solid black eye liners but when I got this navy blue eye liner from Sumita, I was excited. I hadn't tried a navy blue eye liner before and was interested to see if I could pull it off.

Surprisingly, it worked well for me. I used this color with a nice bronze eye shadow and a creamy highlight color just below my brow. It made the bronze really deep and rich and the navy pulled out some of the subtle blue specks in my hazel/green eyes.

The eye liner has a smooth application and it really only needs one nice thick line - you don't have to run it back and forth to make the color stand out.

I likely will not be purchasing it once the sample runs out because I don't wear it every day but it was fun to try it out. I may buy the black liner from Sumita, though!

All Of Me Lip Stain by Mana Kadar Cosmetics

All of Me Lip Stain by Mana Kadar Cosmetics
I have really been enjoying the All Of Me Lip Stain by Mana Kadar Cosmetics. Most of the lip glosses and colors I have gotten thus far from Birchbox have been a little to bubble gum pink or just not a very good fit for my style.

My normal use of this stain is with a touch of lip liner and then a swipe of Dr. Lipp's balm to lock in moisture and give a nice shine.

This lip stain is the first one I have used regularly. The color lasts all day and it also doesn't my lips crack or dry out. There isn't a flavor to this which is refreshing, actually. The sample size is fantastic, I have used it over 20 times and still have some left.

The full product costs $24.00 but I believe it'd be worst purchasing and plan on doing so when my sample runs out.

Wonder Eye Cream By Balance Me

I really, really enjoyed this sample. The size was great and it made my eyes feel amazing.  If I had to describe The Wonder Eye Cream by Balance Me in one word, it would be 'zesty.'

I used this product every morning after washing my face and before applying my primer. I would usually let it set and dry while I was blow drying my hair or putting lotion on my skin. It's has a very invigorating effect to your skin and always helped my eyes wake up.

While this eye cream left my skin feeling great, I cannot say that I ever saw a huge difference in brightening or lifting my eyes. I am sure that over time I'd see a change but in the last few weeks I can only speak to the way it made my skin feel in the mornings.

I liked this product a lot but I am not sure that I would buy more of it since the results were readily obvious.

Intensive Nurturing Body Balm by Perlier - Lavender
I have officially used this body balm sample all up! I have been using the Intensive Nurturing Body Balm by Perlier for a little over a month now. The sample came in my January Birchbox and it has turned out to be one of my favorites.

This body lotion is thick and awesome. It goes on smooth and really penetrates your skin. I have been using it like crazy this past month with all the cold, dry air we have had in here in Arkansas. It's made a huge difference in my hands, elbows and legs.

This stuff works and it smells great. I think I might try the sweet almond fragrance next but the lavender was lovely. I highly recommend this body lotion, one of the best I have sampled this year.

Don't Despair! Repair Hair Mask - Briogeo

This product had so much potential. I was really excited to get it and loved the packaging and the amount given in the sample. It didn't smell as great as the hair mask by Pukka I tried the month before but that was okay - I was still excited about it.

This Deep Moisturizing Hair Mask from Briogeo made my scalp break out worse than I have ever experienced. We are talking big painful sores all over my head. No bueno. I gave it only two tries spaced out by about 2 weeks because I got the same results both times.

Unfortunately, I threw this product in the trash. I was bummed. But my husband even noticed the bumps when he was running his hands through my hair. Ew. I'd love to try more stuff from Briogeo but might stick with sprays or shampoos.

Travelmate Sheet mask - When

When Travelmate Sheet Mask Before and After Results
Let's be real - I have never, ever been the kind of girl to do facial masks. The first one I ever did was this charcoal mask awhile back (and it was hideous) but had pretty awesome results. I have only recently paid attention to the smile lines on my forehead and mouth. That said, since the last mask I have secretly been hoping for another mask in my Birchbox to try out.

I chose the Editor's box for January because 1. It had this mask and 2. Teapigs was going to be in the box. Teapigs is one of my favorite tea companies and anything I can do to support them is awesome.

The Travelmate Sheet Mask from When was fantastic. It was super relaxing and smelled great while on. It called for a solid 30-45 minutes so I sat back and watched an episode of Grey's Anatomy while it went to work. The mask itself made me look like a female Michael Meyers but hey, I have no shame.

The results were fabulous. My pores were visibly smaller, I had a great glow and my skin was crazy soft. I also had really clear skin for the next few days - no new blemishes and I had a few existing blemishes disappear within a few hours after taking the mask off. I have sensitive skin so this was a big WIN! I cannot wait to get enough Birchbox points to buy a box of these. Woot!

Tinted Dry Shampoo - Klorane

1/10/2015

I've been using this dry shampoo for the past month and I love, love, love, LOOOOOVE it. It's the best dry shampoo I have used to date. It smells great, doesn't have 1,000 different crazy chemical ingredients and it's tinted to blend with my dark brown hair.

Klorane's Tinted Dry Shampoo is a hair product every brunette needs in their bag. I used it after 1 day without showering and 3 days after not showering (yeah, I was stinky but I wanted to see how well it worked on really gross hair). It performed well in both cases - leaving my hair looking fresh and bouncy.

I have talked to several girlfriends and we all agree  that the tint is what makes this dry shampoo stand apart. For darker hair, you often get stuck with white streaks in your hair or an unnatural powdery finish but this stuff blends well with brown hair and that's awesome! I'll be buying more of this stuff!

Nourishing Hair Mask - amika

amika Nourishing Mask
I have really enjoyed the samples I have gotten from Birchbox by amika thus far. They are always more than I expected and smell great! The first product I tried was amika's Perk Up Dry Shampoo and had good results and loved the fragrance.

This month I got the Nourishing Mask by amika which came just in time for this cold blast of air and has kept my hair healthy and moisturized! You only need to use this every few weeks and it leaves your hair feeling silky and awesome. The sample has enough for about 4 uses on my thick, medium length hair.

I used mine at the end of my shower regiment and let set while I touched up my legs which was long enough for the mask to really make an impact. I loved this product and it's perfect for the dry cold weather.
